Anna Paddick and the Spekulators Poster

Anna Paddick of Anna Paddick and the Spekulators asked me to make a poster for her band. The brief was clear: She wanted to be portrayed as a Frida Kahlo-esque character with the five male members of her band (the Spekulators) as different coloured monkeys (red, yellow, green, blue and pink to be precise).

This job ran so smoothly, it was a dream. I loved Anna's ideas. I sent her progress shots and she was really happy with them. There were a few changes that she requested of me that I found happily challenging, and in the end I was so glad she did because the work looked much better for them.

The shaded space at the bottom is so Anna can texta in the details of her gigs.

Anna showed me the artworks of mine that she liked the most and explained why. This was very helpful as it gave me a good indication of which style to employ. Surprisingly I resorted back to my collage roots for a portion of the illustration which was very fun.
